We invite you in the "Haute Corrèze", a green and authentic region, in the East of the department of Corrèze. There, are the foothills of the "Massif Central", and you will distinguish its summits in clear weather.
From the plateau of Millevaches to the nearby Auvergne, from the "Tours de Merle" to Salers, and, without going so far, from the bridge of St-Projet to the Black Rocks viaduct, you will have a lot to discover. But you will start with the lake of Neuvic, where you can practise bathing, water sports or fishing.
The closest remarkable site to the gite is the belvedere of Gratte-Bruyère, in the confluence of the Dordogne and the Sumène. It is the paradise of birds of prey, that you can reach after a two kilometers walk.
On the Dordogne, on the Sumène, on the lake of Neuvic, or on other lakes and rivers, the places for fishing are many. The adepts of fly-fishing will probably have heard about the national competition of "fishing cocks", which takes place every May 1st in Neuvic...
A last word about the numerous hydroelectric dams of the region. Bort-les Orgues, l'Aigle, Marèges and Chastang succeed one another on the course of the Dordogne river.
